Learning Disability Evaluations
A series of tests to determine your strengths and weaknesses in problem-solving novel tasks, answering questions related to reading, writing and math skills, and processing information. Diagnosis is determined by a particular pattern of scores rather than by an overall deficit in academic performance. Includes a clinical interview.
General Mental Health Evaluations
Assessment of current mental health concerns usually consisting of a clinical interview and relevant psychological measures. A personality assessment may be included depending on the client's concerns.
Gifted and Talented Evaluations
Students who display characteristics of giftedness and high achievement may benefit from an evaluation to help access gifted academic programs that provide services and enrichment. Results will identify a student’s personal strengths and weaknesses, as well as provide tailored recommendations to maximize a student’s potential.
Evaluation of ADHD, learning disorders, and/or mental health concerns to assist with obtaining accommodations (e.g., extended time) on high-stakes tests (e.g., MCAT, LSAT, GRE). If a diagnosis is given, assistance in submitting requests for accommodations is provided. This includes completion of testing forms and providing evidence of Dr. Coffman's qualifications to the relevant testing company.
Intellectual Disability Evaluations
Assessment of intellectual abilities, academic skills, and adaptive functioning to determine the presence of an intellectual disability. A clinical interview is also conducted with the client. In some cases, parent(s)/guardian(s) may also be interviewed.
An extensive assessment of neurological functioning consisting of multiple neuropsychological instruments, clinical interview, and obtaining historical information of neurological concerns (e.g., traumatic brain injury, dementia).
Clinical interview and assessment of cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses. In some cases, assessment of vocational interests and abilities is also included. Recommendations are provided, which may include potential vocations matching individual's abilities and suggestions to appropriate vocational accommodations and services.
Clinical interview and assessment of neuropsychological functioning to identify possible dementia.
Clinical interview and various measures to identify good candidates for bariatric surgery.
Trans Health Evaluations
Clinical interview for the purposes of potentially recommending trans health services (Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and gender affirming surgeries). WPATH Standards of Care are utilized in determining recommendations. Results can be sent directly to physicians.
ADHD Coaches help individuals with ADHD achieve their goals by developing skills and strategies to compensate for areas of functioning impacted by ADHD. Topics can be related to work, academics, daily life, and personal well-being.
Consultation on a range of psychological topics (e.g., ADHD, mental health concerns, forensics) is offered to individuals, university faculty and staff, and parents.
A treatment option to help clients reach their goals and improve their overall well-being. Both short-term and long-term treatment options are offered by a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Both a male and a female therapist are available. Topics discussed in therapy are limitless. Shoreline Psychological Services specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.
